A good CD with the exception of two songs, 'Behold' and 'Simple Man' should never be on a hard rock/heavy metal CD. 'Flashpoint' is one of the best guitar solos I've heard on a hard rock CD!

Every bit as good as Hammer and Nail with improved production. Rex Carrol delights the listener with more of his phenomenal shredding and Scott Wenzel's voice is pretty cool too. Still don't care for either of the two ballads, but to their credit, they've got good lyrics. Great disc! Favorite Tracks: Attention Please, Stop Light, Straight Through The Heart.

When I first heard 'Attention Please' in 1989, I was in complete awe, totally stunned! I had never heard ANY metal band do the power guitar the way Rex performs on this song, and Mike Elliot's drum kit is a massive thundering machine. These guys have a style all their own, slightly resembling East coast metal band KIX. 'Attention Please' does just that!! ...still remains one of the most ultimate metal songs I have ever encountered. Scott's vocals needed to be louder though.

I love this cd for so many reasons. first off, they rocked so hard on this album. as they always do lol. and the lyrics are some of the most bold for CHRIST that i have heard. on the FOX rock scale, this cd is definatly a 10. for the comment about the ballads, like behold, and simple man, i would have to totally disagree, but thats cool. its sad that bands like whitecross never get the credit they deserve. almost every single album i can listen to all the way through. great cd, great band!!!!!!!!

Ahhhh! That voice! Those guitars! Whitecross never wrote the best or most original songs in the world, but they certainly make up for that with boundless enthusiasm and genuine passion! Like FOX, I personally don't mind the ballads, and here in particular we have the awesome 'Simple Man' - a song that I deeply admire. However my favorite from this album is the final track, a monster guitar driven power ballad that roars it's wonderful message with true style! Visit whitecrossmusic.com NOW!

This is the best Christian rock band ever... IMHO! There are 2 songs on this CD that probably should've been on their ' Best Of ' CD.. Down and Heaven's Calling Tonight.. are my faves off this CD. Also, I like Attention Please.. Shakedown.. and Behold! (My wife likes it, too). For me, this is the CD that started Whitecross' best 3 CDs (of the Rex Carroll genre). In The Kingdom and High Gear are the other 2 CDs.

I still like their first album better than this one, but "Triumphant Return" is a very strong album. Whitecross fans, as well as those who enjoy hard rock/melodic metal in the vein of Ratt or Dokken, should not be disappointed. Whitecross rocks!
