I will never forget the first time I strapped on a headphone to sample this album in the Rocky Mountain Bookstore of SLC, UT. It blew my mind! It had the crispest, tightest and richest production quality I had heard in ANY Christian etal Band. Scott's vocals were reminiscent of Ratt. Rex's guitars remain some of the best. Awesome debut for a band that became a Christian Metal standard bearer.

This is a reall great album. I agree with you Pastor Larry, they sound just like Ratt, but better than Ratt.

Pastor Larry and I have the same memory. I was 13 years old, trying desparately to get my Fundamentalist parents to let me have Christian rock. I liked Petra, but that was all the Christian rock I had ever heard...until...I put this tape into the demo stereo at the Jesus Bookstore in Woodbridge, VA and was blown away. I loved Ratt, so I was hooked right away. This is still Whitecross' best record in my opinion. The opening of All I Need is incredible. Nagasake is metal masterpiece!!

I think I was about 14 when I discovered Whitecross...actually it was 'Hammer & Nail' that I first heard...when it was new...oh, am I getting old. It's amazing metal. Their first couple of albums are some excellent metal. The music they released after High Gear went downhill. Get thier early material if you want real good Whitecross. kevensyle@netscape.net

Whitecross's debut ROCKS!!! This was the first christian metal album I ever owned and IMHO the best christian metal album I've ever heard. If your a Ratt fan this is a Can't go wrong CD. A 10 on my scale.

There are other albums that qualify, but this Whitecross debut has really stood the test of time, for me. A total winner the first time I heard it, and it still is. Ripping, driving hard rock, complete with Scott Wenzel's raspy, sassy vocals, and an uplifting, fantastic message! A debut that really delivers the knockout punch! 10/10

I just caught Stryper on real videos the other day. Got me thinking about all the great bands and where they are today. I have no clue where my whitecross/whitecross tape is today, but it is a must and I will buy a replacement as soon as I see it. Will have to say I think this is the best of the best.

Yes, I would have to agree with alot of the folks who posted before saying Ratt is a good comparison to this bands sound. This is a very good band and an excellent album. Highly recomended.

I absolutly love everything WHITECROSS ever put out. i love their first album. I listen to tons of metal, tons of rock, and i honestly think WHITECROSS is the best hair band that i have ever heard. I still pray some times that they would get back together and do a reunion tour, or maybe make a new album. in heaven they will get to play for all of us some day hopefully!! what a line up that would be, WHITECROSS, PETRA, STRYPER, BRIDE,GUARDIAN......I WOULD REALLY BE IN HEAVEN LOL Fox

Whitecross' debut is stellar! The vocals are raw yet sweet! Scott is a top notch underrated vocalist. Rex's guitars need no introduction except to say "shredtacullar"! As for the songs they all are very good! "Enough Is Enough" is a pure metal hit and had the same song had been released by an secular band it would've went high on the charts. "Looking For A Reason" also just as catchy. The chords, melodies and solos are outstanding. Then there is "Nagaske" and all I can say is wow!
From: Lucas   (---.dhcp.embarqhsd.net) Date: August 28, 2015 at 22:35
Yes, Nagaske is incredible!
