'In the Likeness of You' if I listen to that song twice in the same day I will cry. It is a guarantee. I am not a huge Petra fan but I enjoy this album, solid lyrics and John Schlitt's great voice. Ah, if only they had played metal.

This is one of the best Petra album. It really rocks! I like every album that Petra came out accept the early 80's Petra. I like Beat The System album tho.

This record is okay. Only a couple of standout tracks like Destiny (a really different, but good sound from the normal Petra), Dance, and Hey World. I Need To Hear From You and In The Likeness Of You are decent ballads. Last I checked, though, rock fans didn't like Smokey Robinson, so what's with Hand On My Heart?! Ready, Willing And Able sounds like ZZ Top. The rest of the record is just formulaic Petra rock produced by the Elephantes. Go back to the 80's to get good Petra music.

I was not into this album as much as the others. I really dug the older stuff and Beyond Belief. This album has a neat place in their history though. They were coming off of the Beyond belief stuff and needed something that sounded kind of like it. The guitars sound like chainsaws to me on this album and it is a little too 'out there' to be mainstream. I do like the rockier songs and especially like the last track. Shows the talents of the keyboardist (i am a keyboardist too). Good Album.

Well we have a mixed bag of comments on this album. i love it with all my heart. i love every song, except hand on my heart. that was a mistake, but they tried something new and different and that was taht.again the lyrics were very solid, the music is very tight. its funny how we remember situations and times in our life when we hear certain songs. on the FOX ROCK SCALE this gets a 10. *most petra albums do* if you like beyond belief, on fire, this means war, you will really like unseen power!!
