Usually the second album is never as good as the first one...not in this case...Last Train is far superior and it is tragic that this was to be the last album with this classic metal line up, as the later album Promise Man, is with a different singer, drummer and in a modern rock direction. Not a bad album in its own right...but nothing like Last Train!!!

A solid project that doesn't quite measure up to the band's freshman CD. It's got a darker, moodier feel and the band never really breaks out and rocks like we know they're capable of doing. Still, Last Train is great hard rock, and tracks like 'Hollow's Eve' are real winners.

I would say that this is a great album all in all. We need all of these old bands to have a reunion in tallahassee.

Make no mistake, both their first and second albums rock! I never really got into their later works. Great vocals, excellent sounds. Another Classic rock band that should be remembered for their passion. Taking the 'Last Train' home... Thanks Steven, for the great sound.

Great record. Not a classic, but good hard rock. Don't give much for Gimme Shelter. I hate the Rolling Stones and why they covered this song is beyond me...it sucks. The intro to Fairweather Friend, though, is worth the price of the CD alone. V&V, Crazy, Hollow's Eve, Dead End Drive, Fairweather Friend and Last Train are the best songs.

I loved Last Train, this was the album that really turned me on to Christian Rock. I agree with the guy who said the new christian rock just doesnt compare with the old late 80's early 90's stuff. The quality and talent just doesnt seem to be there to produce albums like these anymore. Everyones out to make a dollar instead. Sad HUH? I say we have a 90's Metal reunion with these guys headlining. HOLY SOLDIER,SACRED WARRIOR AND HAVEN WERE THE BEST OF THEIR TIME!!

I dont see why every one likes this cd so much I dont think it compares to there first CD. I do like a few songs, but I just dont see it compared to there first it doesnt have the same sound. The sound of the first Album I really liked my opinion.

Alas, HS comes out with a boring follow-up to its self-titled album. The Hair Metal is still there, but fading quickly to a (yawn) uninspired Hard Rock. Patrick is in good form as are the guitars. Certainly a step back. Sadly, in the small world of the CCM industry of the early 1990's a bad CD can be killer--which it apparently was for HS. Too bad.

Another stellar CD! I like this one almost as much as their first. The lyrics weren't as 'bold' as their first CD. 'Fairwhether Friend' was written to all the 'critics' of Stryper at the time. The Rolling Stones cover rocks!

This is a great album. Holy Soldier with Steven Patrick on vocals is one of the best christian metal bands. The first four songs are spectacular.

Amazing record... Nearly as good as their first one in my opinion. Steven Patrick was a true celebrity and a hero of mine... I kind of lost interest in the band after he left. If you just heard of Holy Soldier: Buy their first two albums off of ebay, b/c they're now out of print.

Both Last Train and the first one have been rereleased on spaceport records and is relatively easy to find.
