if G&R's late 80's 'Appetite for Destruction' speaks despair to the lost (which is did and does)... then Bride's 'Snakes In the Playground' answers the rough side of life's neglect with Scriptural Truths. The music combines aggressive edginess with the gospel's message of Jesus as Savior.

This album sounds like Motley Crue meets Dangerious Toys.

I have 4 Bride albums. Silence the Madness; Kinetic Faith; Scarecrow Messiah; and Snakes. Snakes is by far my favorite. 'Psychedilic SUper Jesus' just plain roxx!! 'DOn't Use Me' is really catchy. 'Rattlesnake' is an great opener for a consistently satisfying project, even when they get a little 'blue-sy' ie) 'I Miss the Rain'; 'Saltriver SHuffle'; etc. 'Would You Die 4 Me' is a memorable chorus.

Snakes... This album set the standard for most of the albums since. Not just Bride, I'm talking Christian Metal period. This album could easily have been at the top of the secular charts. If only it wasn't so blatantly Christian. The lyrics are truthful and bible based. And the music is So Solid. Bride Rocks. Thank God they are still around and continue to make music. Even if it is Rap-core...

This has to be there most popular album ever. They found an excellent sound on this record. The songs are real catchy, real metal and it's really worth getting. I'm a huge fan of early Bride...this one is way different than early Bride, but one of the coolest albums I own. kevensyle@netscape.net

Uh, oh, the total commercial sell-out . . . well, maybe not totally. This is actually a pretty good heavy metal disc with a truck load of killer hooks and riffs.. The music takes on more of a Guns 'n' Roses-vibe, but it still had the hooks and Dale's mesmerizing voice. Man, he just belts it out on 'Rattlesnake.' 'Goodbye' was a CCM radio hit. The first pressing came with a bonus disc. If I am not mistaken, this was Bride's biggest selling album to date. http://www.nolifetilmetal.com/bride.html

Man, can we say Guns 'N Roses? Some good hard rocking songs, but a little simplistic in some cases. Wish they'd have stayed metal. Favorite tracks: Rattlesnake, Fallout.

Everytime I'm in the car and rockin' on Snakes in the Playground (Rattlesnake) and hear the sirens I have to let off the gas and look in the rear view mirror, one of the greatest Christian rock songs of all times. Really a true message of the world we live in . I was there !! Praise Jesus !!

I just found this CD in the bargain bin @ my local Christian store...never heard the band before but after reading all the good stuff about'em on this site, I figured I'd check it out. GOOD STUFF. Reminds me of Guns N Roses, Dangerous Toys, Babylon A.D., etc... you know, back when radio was playing GOOD music?

Snakes is the epitomy of what christian metal is all about, it has the music, the message and the annointing. No question about it. This is their best work. Snakes is my To Hell with the Devil.

Supposedly, Bride's best work. Hmm, okay. Nothing impressed me. Got rid of it. Sorry, I've given Bride enough chances to impress me.

I agree with most people. This is the best Bride album. It simply rocks. Other great Bride albums are 'Live to Die' and 'This Is It'.

Hmmm, so far I have this and 'Oddities' by Bride. This one is good, nothing more. It's a little too commercial for my tastes, and when I have to say that my favourite tracks on an album like this are the ballads - something is not quite right! Having said that, I Miss the Rain is a truly AWESOME song that should have been twice as long.... Most of the rest of this album simply passes me by in a competent but slightly boring blur, with the first 2 tracks being the only standouts.

Not only the best bride album, but up there with one of the best christian rock albums of all time. like beyond belief for petra, in the kingdom for whitecross, snakes broke some serious ground for bride. i love the fast and slow songs. it doesnt get much better than snakes in the play ground!! on the FOX ROCK SCALE i give this album a 10!! if you love guns and roses, you will really like bride.they have the same high energy, but with some great christian lyrics. check this album out today!!!!!!

For me, it's hard to pick between this CD and the Scarecrow Messiah CD, which is the best Bride CD. I love them both. Why not just get both if you don't have them? Snakes in the Playground has more energy and great tunes.. and Scarecrow Messiah has the best tunes.. IMHO.

THIS CD IS ABSOLUTELY ALSOME. WE SAW BRIDE IN CONCERT, GOT TO TALK TO JERRY AFTER THE SHOW,THESE GUYS COULD OF BEEN AS POPULAR AS ANY SECULAR SO CALLED BANDS. BUT THEY WERE TRUE TO THERE CALLING AND DIDN'T WAVER THERE BELIEFS IN THE ROCK JESUS. IN MY OPINION THESE GUYS ROCKED WITH BEST OF THEM. GOD BLESS THEM FOR ALL THE PEOPLE THEY ROCKED FOR JESUS CHRIST THE ONLY ONE WORTH ROCKING FOR!!! RATTLESNAKE IS MY FAVORITE ALONG WITH DUST THROUGH A FAN.DALE AND THE GUYS THANKS FOR KEEPING THE FAITH.

this album was by far the best release from bride. it was raw, real and gutsy. i have very fond memories from it. it is very hard to find. many years ago i was the vocalist in a band called sirus and we played many places including a small detention center in hartwell georgia. i remember the inmates seemed to enjoy our show. we decided to play psychedelic super jesus (our own arrangement)for them. the inmates could tell something was building and when we kicked in the ENTIRE FRONT ROW jumped.
