|This is probably Allies' best album, but imo it hasn't aged well. Carlisle's vocals are great, but musically it is wanting and the lyrically depth just isn't there.

|Excellent album and probably their best. My favorite songs are Long Way From Paradise, All Day, All Night, Crying in the Chapel and the outstanding Devil is a Liar.

|This is a really good christian album for its time !! It is a bit more than lite aor in many parts and should be in every vintage collection. Favorite tracks are 1,7 and 8. The best of all their releases. 7.8/10

|Walk With Me Silent is a great song! This was a good album for the time, and would be good now for memories. Crying in the Chapel was good too. It is not metal.

|Blast from the past. Was rockin album when I was in christian college. Devil is a Liar is kickin song. Also Take Me Back is a tune that has brought me to my knees on several occassions in my life. Great memories

|The version of Crying in the Chapel is so good it is hard to listen to The King's. Yes, it's that good. Pretty much every song is memorable. There are multiple styles, most of which were popular in the 80's. Walk With me Silent is the exception- heavy synth, no drums, but a haunting melody that will have you whistling all day at work. The guys nailed it on Long way From Paradise- You simply must crank up the volume on this whole album.

|This is a great album, but definitely not their best. There are some fantastic tracks on here like the title track, Devil Is a Liar and the remake to Crying In The Chapel, but the rest of the CD is too inconsistent, albeit containing awesomely crafted songs. I still think Virtues and Shoulder To Shoulders rank at their best. Those two albums combined represent my most favorite collections of Allies songs... and very consistent tunes....

|In 1989 Allies released their fourth studio album. Really hitting their stride, this album has more staying power than the previous projects; it sounds less dated to my ears. But more than that, this is the album where Allies really finds their musical identity. Bob Carlisle cuts cuts loose in a big way here with a slew of show-stoppers. The six studio albums by Allies can, in my opinion, be divided into to distinctive eras in the life of the group. This album is the beginning of the second era.
